Refund policy

Returns & Refunds

Last updated: 31 July 2026

We sell brand overstock, end-of-range and imperfect stock. Most pieces are one of a kind and won't be repeated. That shapes how returns work here, so please read this before you buy.

Changing your mind — 7 days

If you bought online, you may cancel within 7 days of receiving the item and return it for a refund. You don't need to give a reason. This is your right under South Africa's Electronic Communications and Transactions Act.

Conditions:

  • Tell us within 7 days of delivery or collection. Email rb@cdg.co.za with your order number.
  • The item must come back unused, undamaged, and in its original packaging.
  • You pay the cost of returning it. For furniture and rugs this can be significant — please factor that in before ordering.
  • We refund the purchase price within 30 days of receiving the item back and confirming its condition.
  • Original delivery charges are not refunded.

This does not apply to items bought in person at the warehouse. If you bought it on the floor, you saw it before you paid.

Faulty or not as described — 6 months

If an item is defective, unsafe, or doesn't match how we described it, you have 6 months to return it. You choose whether we repair it, replace it, or refund you. This is your right under the Consumer Protection Act.

We pay the cost of collection in these cases.

Replacement is often not possible here, because most of our stock is one of a kind. Where we can't replace, we repair or refund.

Pieces sold in a stated condition

Some of our stock is sold with known faults — a mark, a scuff, a repair, fading, a damaged corner. Where that's the case:

  • The specific fault is described in writing on the product page, and shown in the photographs.
  • The price reflects it.
  • By buying, you're agreeing to accept the item in that stated condition.

You cannot return an item because of a fault we disclosed and you accepted. You can still return it for any fault we did not disclose, and your 7-day right to change your mind is unaffected.

If you're buying something described as imperfect and you're not sure what that means in practice, ask us before you order, or come and look at it in Fourways. We'd rather you saw it.

Wear, character and variation

Overstock and end-of-range pieces have usually been handled, displayed, or stored. Minor variation is normal and is not a fault:

  • Slight colour differences from the photographs, or between a rug and its sample
  • Natural variation in wood grain, stone, ceramic glazes and weaves
  • Small marks from display or storage on pieces described as ex-display

What we can't take back

  • Items damaged after delivery, including by incorrect assembly, cleaning or installation
  • Items returned without their original packaging where that packaging was needed to protect them
  • Items altered, repaired or modified after you received them
  • Anything made or sourced to your specific order

Large items

Furniture, rugs and mirrors need to be collected rather than posted. We'll arrange collection and quote you for it where the return cost is yours to carry.

Measure before you order. We can't refund delivery or collection costs because something didn't fit through a door or up a stairwell.

How to start a return

  1. Email [email] with your order number, the item, and what's wrong.
  2. Send photographs if it's a fault.
  3. We'll confirm within 2 business days and tell you how to send it back or arrange collection.
  4. Once we have it and have checked it, we refund to your original payment method within 30 days.

Your rights

Nothing here limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002. Where anything in this policy conflicts with those Acts, the Acts apply.
